GP Consultations

Dr Brian McDonogh is a private General Practitioner, specialising in Nutritional Medicine. He is well qualified to provide advice on a wide range of medical problems and to prescribe pharmaceutical drugs where necessary. He practices Integrated Medicine, taking an holistic approach to health issues. This allows him to successfully treat many patients whose NHS GPs are unable to get to the root of the problem in the limited time they have available for consultations.

Patients are often unaware that they have the option of paying to see a GP privately, and that they can have the full attention of a doctor for an hour or two, instead of the usual 5 or 10 minute appointment. Many do not realise that you don't need Private Health Insurance to take advantage of private medical care. Just like a visit to the now familiar private dentist, you simply pay as you go, for whatever you need, when you need it. At any stage you can opt to go to your NHS family practitioner for follow-up treatment, further tests or referrals to consultants.

Some people seek an alternative to mainstream medicine and visit complementary and alternative practitioners in their search for a different solution to chronic illnesses.

At Eagle Clinic we offer the best of both worlds – medical expertise combined with specialist knowledge of Nutritional Medicine and the way biochemical imbalances impact on our health.

At an initial consultation Dr McDonogh will examine all the factors that may be compromising an individual's health and make recommendations for further tests, dietary and lifestyle changes and nutritional, herbal or hormonal supplementation. As part of our private GP service, we offer general wellness assessments, blood tests to measure cancer cell activity, treatment for thyroid and adrenal dysfunction and advice on natural hormone replacement therapy as well as preventative medicine.

Patients can opt for a thorough evaluation of their wellness status, make use of state-of-the-art screening tests to assess their risk of developing specific diseases, undergo Electrodermal Testing to identify intolerances that may be caused by sensitivities to food, chemicals and drugs, and see evidence of fungal infections, cholesterol deposits and nutritional deficiencies in their own blood, highly magnified and displayed live on a TV monitor.

This is just a taster of 21st Century health care. Exciting advances are being made each day. Prevention is always better than cure and increasingly we are now able to identify potential problems before they cause disease. Through the practice of Integrated Medicine, Dr McDonogh's vision is to help us take control of our health and prolong our youthfulness and vitality well into an active old age.
